Fat is often deposited unevenly on the body and many of us, even very slim and toned individuals, will despair when we catch sight of bulges of fat on the upper back, particularly evident on women around the bra line.
As always practitioner choice is very important when planning a body reshaping procedure and it is crucial to choose an aesthetic practitioner with skill and experience as treating the back is less straightforward than other areas. The skin on the back is much thicker and the fat deposits are much more fibrous, so the back can be a more difficult area to treat. VASER allows a greater deal of selection than other procedures which means it’s particularly effective in treating the back.
During your VASER Liposelection procedure, Dr Joshua Berkowitz will numb the treatment area with local anaesthetic before making tiny incisions, hidden so they will be unnoticeable post-procedure. Next, he will insert the small VASER probe which directs ultrasound energy into the fat cells on the back. These fat cells are then emulsified so they can easily and gently be removed with a suction cannula. Any melted fat cells that aren’t removed by suction will be passed out of the body post-procedure.
You will be able to return home on the same day, although we always recommend that our patients bring a friend or family member with them to the clinic so they can be assisted home and looked after for the first twenty-four hours or so. Recovery should be very quick after a VASER Liposelection procedure and most patients can return to work and normal activities within a few days of treatment.
We give all our London VASER patients careful aftercare instructions and provide regular check-ups after their procedure to monitor their progress and ensure they are happy with their VASER results.
