VASER for the buttock area is one of the most commonly requested procedures at London’s Wimpole Aesthetic Clinic. This is partly because excess weight quickly accumulates in this area and for those patients keen to reduce the size of their buttocks, VASER is an effective fat reduction procedure.
However, we find that it’s often not just a question of removing fat from the buttocks; patients want a better shaped behind that suits their aesthetic ideal. Practitioner choice is very important here and Dr Joshua Berkowitz combines an artistic eye with high levels of skill to ensure that great attention is paid to producing the desired contours. With VASER he is able to recontour the area, lose any lumps or bumps or combine it with fat transfer to sculpt a new buttock shape entirely.
The consultation is key here, as Dr Berkowitz listens carefully to what you wish to achieve from your VASER procedure and only if he feels like he can achieve this does he go ahead.
On the day of treatment, the area will be numbed with local anaesthetic, before Dr Berkowitz makes tiny incisions, easily hidden when fully healed, in the skin. He then inserts the VASER probe and directs the ultrasound energy into the fat cells he wants to remove. These are emulsified so they can be easily removed with a suction cannula.
As VASER does not require a general anaesthetic there is no need for an overnight stay and you can easily manage your recovery at home with just over-the-counter painkillers. We do advise our London VASER patients to have someone on hand to help them home and look after them in the initial period, but we find that most of our patients are able to return to work within a few days, depending on the nature of their employment.
You will be given full aftercare instructions and we arrange regular appointments in clinic so we can monitor both your recovery and results.
